REFUGE
Artist Statement
In 2019, the artist and thousands of other creatures had to evacuate their home due to fire; she soon after observed the unusual sight of hundreds of birds wheeling around her urban streets. They, as with all refugees, had lost their native homes and were roaming, on the search for a new place to rest and thrive.
As pressures mount, a secure place to call home is becoming rarer for both humans and animals.
